This 11-day Kenya safari and beach holiday combines the best of East Africa’s wildlife adventures with the relaxation of the Kenyan coast. From the arid landscapes of Samburu and the rhino sanctuary of Lake Nakuru, to the endless plains of the Maasai Mara and the elephant paradise of Amboseli, this journey delivers unforgettable game drives and cultural encounters. The adventure concludes with pure relaxation on the white sandy beaches of Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu.
Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Samburu
Spend a full day on game drives, searching for the Samburu Special Five — Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. In between, relax at your lodge or enjoy an optional cultural visit to a Samburu village.
After breakfast, depart Samburu for Lake Nakuru. Arrive for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Nakuru is famous for its rhinos, flamingos (seasonal), and diverse birdlife.
Enjoy a morning game drive in Nakuru before transferring to Lake Naivasha. In the afternoon, take a boat ride to see hippos and birdlife, followed by a walk on Crescent Island where animals roam freely.
Journey to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. After settling in, enjoy your first game drive in one of the world’s richest wildlife reserves.
Spend the day exploring the Mara. Look out for the Big Five and, in migration season, wildebeest crossings. Optional: take a hot-air balloon safari followed by a champagne breakfast.
Depart the Mara after a morning game drive and travel to Amboseli, where you’ll be greeted by herds of elephants with Mount Kilimanjaro towering in the distance.
Enjoy a full day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. The park is renowned for its elephants, predators, and birdlife. Optional Maasai cultural visit in the afternoon.
Leave Amboseli for Tsavo. Depending on your preference, explore Tsavo West (Mzima Springs, lava flows) or Tsavo East (famous for its red elephants). Arrive in time for a late-afternoon game drive.
After a morning game drive, depart Tsavo for the Kenyan coast. Arrive at your beach resort in Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu. Spend the evening unwinding by the ocean, listening to the sound of the waves.
Spend the day at leisure by the beach. Relax under the sun, swim in the turquoise waters, or indulge in optional activities such as snorkeling, diving, or dhow cruises. Later, transfer to the airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your Kenyan adventure.
